Emotional Bank Account
Each one of us has an emotional bank account.
The trouble with anxiety | shame | depression (and other unpleasant / uninvited emotions) is at some point, they become exhausting.
Overtime, stress accumulates; sometimes to the point where the emotional account feels drained & bankrupt.
- It’s OK to feel overwhelmed.
- It’s OK to not feel like yourself.
- It’s OK to not feel OK.
What matters is asking for help when we need it. It’s how we refill our emotional bank account.
When we talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary.
Relief from Overwhelm
It’s OK to feel insecure. It’s OK to think we’re not enough at times (not good enough, not worthy enough, etc). There isn’t a person on earth who hasn’t felt inadequate at some point or another.
One of the biggest hurdles for anyone going through tough times is overcoming the stigma of asking others for help.
All of us, at some point in time, need help.
Our emotional hurts take time to heal. Asking for help is the courageous first step in finding relief from burnout and overwhelm.
